What Is the ConSIMium Project?

Once a year, 27 teams from all EU Member States travel to Brussels to take on the roles of:

  • EU leaders,
  • ambassadors,
  • national experts,
  • ministers,
  • journalists.

Over the course of two days, six-person teams participate in a simulation of two European Council summits and a series of Council of the EU meetings at all levels, focusing on current issues. For example, in 2025, the topics included the EU defence industry, joint procurement and critical raw materials, while in 2026, teams discussed international trade.

Participants also have the opportunity to take part in preparatory meetings of national experts (the so-called Working Parties) and ambassadors (COREPER, the Committee of Permanent Representatives). The simulation concludes with a meeting of ministers, during which participants attempt to reach a compromise.
