UniLodz Faculty of Economics and Sociology Staff Members Join the New Board of ERSA Sekcja Polska

We are pleased to announce that two members of staff from the Department of Regional Economics and Environment at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology, University of Lodz, have been elected to the Board of the Polish Section of the European Regional Science Association (ERSA Sekcja Polska) for the 2026–2029 term of office.

Prof. dr hab. Mariusz Sokołowicz, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Sociology, University of Lodz, has assumed the role of President of the Association. He will oversee its activities and represent ERSA Sekcja Polska both nationally and internationally. Dr Ewa Boryczka-Kubiak has been elected to the position of Treasurer.

ERSA Sekcja Polska is a part of the European Regional Science Association, one of the most important European academic associations in the field of regional studies, established in 1954. The organisation brings together researchers and practitioners working, among other areas, in regional and urban economics, spatial planning and local development, supporting research and international cooperation in these fields. The Association’s objectives include conducting and promoting research in regional science, advancing knowledge on regional development processes and regional policy, as well as fostering international cooperation in both the theory and practice of regional development.
