Together We Shape the Rules of Work at UniLodz – New Work Regulations Now in Force

We have introduced new Work Regulations at the University of Lodz. This is an important change that organises the principles of our shared work and better reflects the realities of a modern University – both in legal and organisational terms.

The new Work Regulations have been developed through a process of extensive cooperation, involving various units, team leaders, as well as consultations with faculties, trade unions and the Equality Council. As a result, this is not a top-down document, but one that has been created collectively – taking into account the diverse perspectives and experiences of employees of the University of Lodz.

Greater clarity and a simpler structure

We wanted to make the Regulations clear and transparent above all. Therefore, we have reorganised their structure and clearly separated the general provisions from those concerning specific groups of employees. This makes it easier to find relevant information and understand the rules that apply to us.

Strengthening of employees’ rights

The new document also places stronger emphasis on the rights of employees – alongside their obligations, we explicitly highlight, among other things, the right to equal treatment, respect for dignity, safe and healthy working conditions, rest and protection of privacy. This is an important reinforcement that helps build a greater sense of security and predictability in everyday work.

Work culture and well-being at the centre of attention

We have also placed strong emphasis on issues related to workplace culture and well-being. The Regulations organise and strengthen procedures for preventing mobbing and discrimination, while also supporting standards of cooperation, communication and responsibility within teams. This forms part of a broader approach in which we care not only about regulations, but also about the quality of relationships and the working environment.

More inclusive and accessible language

The language of the Regulations, which is more inclusive, simpler and adapted to the diversity of our academic community, is another important aspect. We wanted to ensure that the document is understandable and accessible to all those working at the University of Lodz.

The new Work Regulations entered into force on 1 May 2026.

This is yet another step towards a more structured, transparent and friendly work environment – an environment that we are developing together, creating the #HumaneUniversity.
