The newly appointed Representative will be responsible for activities supporting women and for cooperation with institutions and organisations engaged in this area. The appointment of Dr Oktawia Braniewicz-Zaorska is connected with the implementation of initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation and dialogue on issues concerning women in the Łódź Voivodeship.
Dr Oktawia Braniewicz-Zaorska is affiliated with the University of Lodz, including the Faculty of Economics and Sociology. Her academic achievements include, among other areas, issues related to the protection of human rights. She defended her doctoral dissertation entitled "Ośrodki dla cudzoziemców na terytorium RP w kontekście prawnomiędzynarodowych standardów ochrony praw człowieka” [Centres for Foreign Nationals on the Territory of the Republic of Poland in the Context of International Legal Human Rights Protection Standards] in 2024, and in 2026 she was among those awarded the doctoral degree by the University of Lodz in the discipline of Law.
As the Łódź Voivode’s Representative for Women, she will be able to draw on her academic and research experience in activities aimed at strengthening cooperation and undertaking initiatives concerning the situation of women in the region.
