The idea of the "Łódzkie wykłady z poetyki" series was born in March 2018. That was when we hosted Olga Tokarczuk at the Faculty of Philology. The later winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature gave three lectures at the University of Lodz, the record of which was included in "Czuły Narrator" [The Tender Narrator] – the first book by the prose writer published after receiving the prestigious award from the Swedish Academy.
The meetings planned for March, April and May will be open to all those interested. In addition to a 45-minute speech by the guest, the adopted formula of the event assumes a half-hour conversation with the person conducting the meeting and the possibility of asking questions by the audience. Moderators: Dr Maciej Robert (Dom Literatury w Łodzi) and Dr Izabella Adamczewska-Baranowska (Department of Theory of Literature at the University of Lodz).
